Vintage Nile 2019
Our group of intrepid travelers is planning an Art Deco-themed trip to Egypt in December 2019. Tour operators Goodspeed & Bach have created an itinerary from Cairo to Aswan that includes stays in historic hotels, museum and antiquities excursions, sumptuous meals (and plenty of booze), with an Egyptologist guide (Dr. Colleen Darnell) who will accompany the group. Travel includes air travel from Cairo to Luxor, plus five nights cruising the Nile on the Steamship SUDAN (made famous by mystery writer Agatha Christie as a setting for her novel Death on the Nile).

Introducing Our Egyptologist Guide, Dr. Colleen Darnell:
Dr. Colleen Darnell, known on Instagram as @vintage_egyptologist, is an expert on all things ancient Egyptian. She has made several important archaeological discoveries in Egypt and is the author or co-author of six books about military history, literature, and Egyptomania. Her most recent book (co-authored with her husband Prof. John Darnell) The Ancient Egyptian Netherworld Books is the first complete translation of the hieroglyphic texts in the Valley of the Kings. She prefers to translate hieroglyphs and share her passion for ancient Egypt while dressed in fashions from the 1920s and 1930s.
